01Information we collect

Information you provide

You may enter the following, and it is used solely to make the App work:

• Event URLs entered manually
• Team numbers entered manually
• Custom YouTube API keys (optional)
• Custom RobotEvents API keys (optional)

Information collected automatically

Used strictly for performance monitoring, debugging and improving the App:

• Device type and operating system version
• App version
• General diagnostic and crash data
• Anonymous usage analytics

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos, microphone recordings, financial information or biometric data.

Public event data

The App loads public competition data from RobotEvents and YouTube: event schedules, match results, rankings and livestream video identifiers. All of it is public and accessed through official APIs or publicly available endpoints. We do not control the privacy practices of those platforms.

02How we use information

• Load and display VEX Robotics event data
• Synchronise livestream playback with match schedules
• Provide event history, stored locally on your device
• Improve app performance and reliability
• Prevent misuse or abuse of the App

We do not use personal data for advertising or behavioural tracking.

03Local data storage

The App may store recently viewed events, any API keys you enter, and your preferences on your device. This information stays on your device unless you delete the App. We do not remotely access locally stored data.

04Third-party services

• YouTube, via the YouTube Data API v3 and the embedded player
• RobotEvents, via the v2 API
• Expo Application Services, for infrastructure and the app runtime

Embedded YouTube content is subject to YouTube’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these services.

05Data sharing and disclosure

We do not sell, rent or trade user information. We may disclose information only:

• To comply with legal obligations
• To enforce our rights
• To protect the safety and integrity of users or the public

06International users

The App is available globally. By using it you understand that information may be processed in countries outside your residence, including the United States. Where required by law, such as under the GDPR, we rely on legitimate interest and, where applicable, your consent as the legal basis for processing.

07Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Because the App collects minimal personal data and has no user accounts, many of these requests may not apply, but you can contact us about any privacy concern.

California residents may request disclosure of our data collection practices under the CCPA/CPRA. EU and UK residents may exercise their GDPR rights by contacting us.

08Children’s privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that a child’s personal data has been collected without appropriate consent, we will delete it promptly.

09Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security.

We retain data only as long as needed to provide core functionality, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it.

10Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time. Updates are reflected by a revised effective date, and continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
